Type 1 Diabetes Symptoms
Type 1 diabetes can occur to a person irrespective of his/her age. It is identified in the age group from early childhood to 30s. The pancreas of diabetic patient produces negligible amount of insulin. Type 1 diabetes is supposed to be the cause of obliterating of beta cells within pancreas and eradicating body’s ability to produce insulin. This is a self- immune process in the human body and sometimes experienced as the attack of viruses on pancreas.
Due to negligible or no insulin, glucose is not formed by body cells to produce ATP (Adenosin Triphosphate) units. This is indicated by the Type 1 Diabetes symptoms like Nausea and Vomiting. In later stages, body starts rupturing muscle tissues and fats for producing energy. This fats breakdown and muscle damage lead to fast weight loss. Type 1 Diabetes symptoms include weight loss and dehydration as well. This Dehydration is caused by electrolyte disturbance and later stages can take patient in to the state of Coma followed by death.
Person suffering from Type 1 disease has to take insulin from external source like injection, several times a day. This external insulin helps body in processing sugar and thus it creates energy.
Type 1 diabetes symptoms also include:
- Extreme Craving for Liquids: Thirst always accompanies the person who is suffering from Type 1 Diabetes. This is because of the imbalance electrolytes in patient’s body and dehydration.
- Constant starvation: As the pancreas is not able to digest the glucose and forms energy, there is a constant urge to eat more. Moreover, Insulin stimulates hunger, and the absence of insulin leads to excessive hunger.
- Weight loss: Owing to produce energy, body breaks down the muscle tissues and fats. This loss of fats leads to weight loss.
- Repeated Urination: Excess of glucose in the body is supposed to be excreted and it is accomplish by repetitive urination.
